Answering questions

Once your group has started (see Groups), you work on the questions. For each question:

  1. write your first answer;
  2. read your teammates' answers and comment on them;
  3. read the comments you receive and write your revised answer.

The question list

On the dashboard click Open on the assignment. You see your group name (Group:) and the questions, grouped by quiz. The question order is the same for the whole group.

Next to each question you see its status:

Question order

It depends on the assignment:

Your first answer

  1. Click the question or ๐Ÿงพ Answer.
  2. Read the question at the top (and the quiz description, if any: Read more... opens it in full).
  3. For multiple-choice questions, tick one or more options under Select one or more options.
  4. Write your text in Your Answer.
  5. Click Submit. Depending on the assignment, you go to the question page or back to the question list.

You submit your first answer only once: reread it before submitting.

Draft autosave

While you write, your draft is saved automatically (about 2 seconds after you stop typing, and in any case every 5 seconds). At the top you see Saving... and then Saved at with the time.

When you submit your answer, the draft is deleted.

The AI peer

If the assignment has an AI peer, it prepares its own answer when you submit your first answer. This can take a moment.

The question page

After your first answer, the question page shows one column per participant:

Your teammates' answers appear by themselves as soon as they submit them: until then the column shows Waiting for answer.... Meanwhile you can move to other questions with Go to other questions.

If the columns do not fit on the screen, scroll with the โฎ โฏ arrows and adjust their size with Columns width.

In some assignments the question page opens only from a date set by the teacher. Before that date, after submitting your first answer, you go back to the list with the message The revision phase for this assignment has not started yet.

Comment on your teammates' answers

Below each teammate's answer you find the comment form:

  1. Evaluation Form/Style...: rate the form and style of the answer.
  2. Evaluate Content/Accuracy...: rate the content and accuracy.
  3. For both, choose among Very negative, Negative, Neutral, Positive, Very positive.
  4. Write your comment in Your Comment, explaining your ratings.
  5. Click Submit Comment.

You can comment on each answer only once. After submitting you see โœ… You have already commented on this answer.

Comments you receive

In your column, below your answer, your teammates' comments appear as soon as they write them, with their ratings (๐Ÿ“ form, ๐Ÿ“š content).

You can rate each comment you receive: open Evaluate this comment..., choose among Misleading, Helpful, Insightful, Inspiring and click Submit.

Your revised answer

Until the revision is available, your column reads Waiting for all teammates to submit their comments before you can proceed to the review....

The revision opens when your teammates have commented on your answer, or when the collaboration deadline set by the teacher has passed. If you have been waiting for a long time, click Reload.

  1. Reread your answer and the comments you received.
  2. Write your revised answer in the box.
  3. Click Submit Revised Answer.

You submit your revised answer only once. After submitting you see it under Revised Answer: and you can go back to the list with Back to Assignment. The question switches to โœ… Done.

Your teammates' revised answers appear in their columns when they submit them.

Anonymous assignments

In some assignments your classmates' names are hidden: instead of a name you see a generic label, for example Anonymous next to comments.
